Recently this article was published on the TES website – Head who falsified Sats papers is struck off.
Several things I find really interesting about this article. Forensics were employed on the papers – I was wondering how much this actually cost. Although I think it is important to verify that it was not the other members of staff involved, I’m quite shocked that it went to this level. Why would headteachers actually do this? Are you looking out for the children? the school? or themselves?
I would say certainly not for the children. If he was a new head maybe he was just trying to save his job by keeping the scores up?
